Hi everyone,
As most of you undoubtedly know by now, elections are on Tuesday. If you haven't already voted early, I hope you plan on heading to the polls to cast your vote! If you do not know where your polling place is, you may want to check out Google's polling place locator (complete with maps) at http://maps.google.com/vote or Vote411's polling place locator at: http://www.vote411.org/pollingplacebystate.php or the GoVote locator at http://govote.org/
If you cannot find your polling place by any of these methods, check with your country clerk or local board of elections. They can tell you where you need to go!
Remember to take a photo ID and your voter registration card with you to the polls just in case you need it. In some states, identification is requested for those voting for the first time or voting after having made changes to their registration. In others, identification is required.
If you get to your polling place and are told you aren't eligible to vote... ask for a provisional ballot. The provisional ballot is used to record your vote if any questions should arise about eligibility. Once election officials are able to check your eligibility, the provisional ballot will be counted (if you are eligible to vote). If you do cast a provisional ballot, you may want to check your state guidelines to see if you will be required to do anything further once the ballot is in. In some states, for instance, if you cast a provisional ballot and do not provide proof of identity, you may be required to provide that proof within a specific amount of time in order for your ballot to be cast. Check with the Secretary of State for more information on that!
Happy Voting!
Fallon

"I am not going to question your opinions. I am not going to meddle with your belief. I am not going to dictate to you mine. All that I say is, examine, inquire. Look into the nature of things. Search out the grounds of your opinions, the for and the against. Know why you believe, understand what you believe, and possess a reason for the faith that is in you." ~Frances Wright
